Fruity Cupcake Soap

Yields: 6 Soaps

Materials:

1 lb Clear Glycerin Melt and Pour Soap
1 tsp Sweet Orange Essential Oil (or Mandarin Essential Oil)
1 tsp Pink Grapefruit Essential Oil
1 tsp Cucumber Melon Fragrance Oil
Soap dye (I used Lilac, Peach and Seafoam)
1/4 lb Shea butter Melt-and-pour soap
1 tsp Vanilla Essential Oil
Sanding/Sparkling Sugar
6 Silicone Cupcake Liners
Spray Bottle filled with Rubbing Alcohol

Directions:

Cut the glycerine soap into 1-inch cubes and place into a large microwave safe bowl or 4 cup glass measuring cup and cover with cling wrap.

Heat the soap in your microwave for 45 seconds.

Stir the soap then heat again in 30 second increments until melted and smooth.

Divide the soap equally into three glass measuring cups or bowls.

Into each of the measuring cups, stir in one of the fruit essential oils of your choice with a few drops of corresponding dye (pink or lilac with grapefruit (or lavender), green with melon (or cucumber) and orange with orange or mandarin.)

Pour one colour of soap at a time into your silicone liners (one colour per liner).

Lightly spray the soap with rubbing alcohol to eliminate any bubbles.

Allow soap to completely solidify and cool down, about 1 hour.

Cut the shea butter soap into 1-inch cubes and place into a large microwave safe bowl or 4 cup glass measuring cup and cover with cling wrap.

Heat the soap in your microwave for 45 seconds.

Stir the soap then heat again in 30 second increments until melted and smooth.

Stir in vanilla essential oil.

Pour the soap into your moulds over the solidified glycerine soap.

Immediately sprinkle the top of the soaps with sanding sugar.

Allow the soap to completely cool and harden before removing from moulds.

  1. These are really cute. I’ve been looking for a recipe for making homemade soap so I can mix frankincense and myrrh essential oils with Shea butter. Thanks for the recipe.
