I love plaid. I basically live in plaid shirts as soon as it gets cool out. Maybe it’s from being a teen during the 90s when plaid was a thing. Yeah. I was definitely into the whole grunge thing.

Anyway, I adore this rustic looking plaid Christmas Wreath by contributor Erica. She used ribbon to make this but you could also repurpose old, worn plaid shirts for this project too!

Plaid Christmas Wreath

Materials:

12″ Straw wreath
3 Spools Markers Holiday buffalo plaid ribbon
Fake pine tree with snow and berries
Laser cut wooden snowflake
Scissors
Hot glue/hot glue gun
White craft paint
Paint brush

Directions:

1. Start wrapping the buffalo plaid ribbon around your straw wreath. Use a dab of hot glue to secure the starting end and overlap the ribbon as you go.

Use another dab of hot glue to secure the end and repeat these steps with your second and third spool of ribbon until your whole wreath is wrapped.

2. Lay your snowflake out on a scrap paper and use your paint brush to paint it white and let dry.

3. Trim off a couple of your pine branches till your branch looks like the size you’d like.

4. Hot glue and wrap a small piece of ribbon around the bottom of the branch, securing any ends with glue.

5. Now carefully hot glue the branch onto the bottom right side of your wreath, then glue the snowflake into the centre of the branch.

6. Now cut an 8-10″ piece of ribbon, loop it through the top of your wreath, and fold the ends together, gliding as your fold.

7. Make sure your wreath is dry and then it’s ready to display.
