Kids will love making these cute little Quilled Paper Snails as their next craft project. Use them on cards, glue them onto popsicle sticks to make bookmarks, turn them into magnets… the possibilities for these little cuties are endless!
Quilled Paper Snail
Select colored craft paper for the snail and trace the template patterns on the selected papers. Use scissors to cut out the traced patterns.
Select different colored paper quilling trips. Use the slotted quilling tool to coil each strip and then for loose coil shapes with them. Make as many loose coil shapes as required.
Grab the loose coils and the round cut out.
Start to glue the loose coil shapes on the round cut out one by one. Start gluing the loose coils from the outer edge (the border of the round cut out) of the round cut out.
Keep gluing the loose coil shapes on the round cut out until it is filled. You can add tiny coils to fill the gaps between the loose coils if you want.
Now take the body cut out of the snail and stick the 2 eye cut outs on their places on the body cut out. Make sure to draw the eye balls on the 2 eye cut outs; use black sharpie to draw them. This is the shell of the snail.
Now stick the quilled round piece on the body of the snail. Allow the glue to dry and meanwhile make another one!
