Update your Homemade Cranberry Sauce with apples and spice for an easy twist on the classic Thanksgiving side dish. This would be great for Christmas dinner too!
I love cranberry sauce, it’s one of my favourite parts of Thanksgiving dinner. If I could do things my way then Thanksgiving dinner would be turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. Yum!
This is a nice twist on the classic homemade cranberry sauce without having to put up much of a fuss.
Homemade Cranberry Sauce with Apples
Ingredients:
1 Cup Sugar
1 Cup Water
1 stick cinnamon
2 (12 oz) package of fresh cranberries, washed
2 Medium Royal Gala Apples, cored and diced
Directions:
Combine the sugar, water and cinnamon stick in a large saucepan over medium heat. Stir until the sugar is dissolved.
Stir in the cranberries and apples. Simmer until thickened and the berries begin to pop, about 10-12 minutes.
Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.
Store any unused cranberry sauce in an airtight container.

Wish I could eat cranberries but I am allergic to them. I might make this for hubby though, he would love it!

I have made lots of batches of cranberry sauce but I have never made it with apples. I am intrigued by this recipe and I know I will try it. Thank you for this and other recipes.
