Prince Edward County #12PrintsProject

Storm Approaching in Prince Edward County

I recently spent the weekend with a wonderful group of women bloggers in Prince Edward County, Ontario and was incredibly excited to get to practice my photography outdoors.  It isn’t often I am afforded the chance to do so without having any children pulling at my arm and otherwise distracting me!

I came away with hundreds of gorgeous shots and I knew I wanted to use a couple this month for my posterjack prints.  My favourite of all the photos I took all weekend happened when my friend Aimee from Extreme Couponing Mom and I grabbed our cameras just before a storm rolled through.  We crossed the road from the house we were staying in and sat by an old silo to find this gorgeous scene playing out.  I just love with light of the sun playing across the grass and flowers and even the old wood fence with the dark sky of the storm in the background.  It’s an amazing contrast and turned out gorgeous thanks to my 100 mm Canon L-Series lens.  (Yep!  Amazing for more than just macro shots!)

I have fallen in love with Posterjacks white frames for my sitting room after the time I ordered the one for my sister a couple months ago.   I really like the way the white lacquer frame accentuates the contrast between the flowers and the sky.

I think it’s a really gorgeous addition to my wall decor.  I actually ended up re-doing what I had setup just because I loved this piece so much more between the luxurious, glossy lacquer frame and of course the photo itself!

I love that the PosterJack print retains all the crisp detail of the original.  That is a quality print job!

Sand flowers at Sandbanks Provincial Park

The day prior, when we arrived in Prince Edward County, Aimee and I actually took a walk down Sandbanks Beach and while walking through the dunes from the parking lot to the beach we were struck by the beauty of these flowers growing int he sand.  I think they are supposed to be trees, but honestly I am not an expert on fauna.   Maybe someone reading this will recognize what  it is.  Regardless, they are gorgeous flowers and I couldn’t resist getting a few shots of them.

I ended up ordering this one in a gallery frame, again in white.  I wanted something super simple and modern to help highlight the beauty of the flower and it definitely worked out.  Posterjack seriously does such an amazing job with their prints and their framed prints are so stunning and way easier than dealing with custom framing.

Honestly, could this have worked out any better?  It looks right at home!

Both framed prints came ready to hang which makes them super easy to deal with and perfect for those, who, like me, have no patience for waiting around to do something like hang new pieces of art!

Posterjack’s Summer Kidtographer search is back for a third year in a row.

This year Posterjack is looking for four junior shutterbugs between the ages of 8 to 12 years old to show Posterjack fans summer through the lens of a kid.  To get each Summer Kidtographer started on their journey, Posterjack will hook each kid up with a Canon PowerShot SX520 HS of their very own along with a memory card to save all their photos.

As a new twist, this year one summer photographer will be chosen by Posterjack fans!

From June 15 – June 19 Posterjack fans will be invited to vote for their favourite junior photographer (based on their entry photo) on Facebook. And when fans vote, they’ll be entered in a draw to win a Canon PowerShot SX520 HS of their very own.

Kids can enter the search to become one of the four official Posterjack Summer Kidtographers, by submitting the following information via email to kidtographer@posterjack.ca by June 14, 2015:

● name
● proof of age
● city
● a recent photo taken by their child
● a brief explanation (250 words or less) on why they should be Posterjack’s Summer Kidtographer (can be written with the help of an adult)

From July 1 – August 24, Kidtographers will be asked to snap daily photos, which will be submitted to Posterjack every Sunday by 12:00 pm EST. These photos will be featured on the Posterjack blog and social media communities.

On September 1, each Kidtographer will be awarded a $150 Posterjack gift certificate to turn their favourite summer photos into lasting art.

Disclosure:  I received the above mentioned product in order to facilitate this post.  All thoughts and opinions are honest and my own.

Good Afternoon, Hoping you can help me out by talking about the need for new and existing blood donors in Picton and Prince Edward County to support the bi-monthly blood donor clinics. I would love to secure some community support to help raise awareness. the next clinic on June 12th has over 100 open appointments available which need to be filled to support the patients that require blood and blood products.
