Easy Entertaining With Our Finest From Walmart

With the holiday season upon us it can be difficult to always be prepared for unexpected drop-ins and beyond hectic trying to get all that baking and cooking done for that party you are hosting.  Whether you are preparing for a Holiday work party, family dinner, or even just the odd drop-in, you can turn to Walmart’s premium food brand, Our Finest.

Our Finest has been developed in Canada for Canadians and offers delicious products from quality ingredients and all at prices that ensure you can impress your guests for less this Holiday season! 

Enjoying delicious food while spending time with my family and friends is something I look forward to during each Holiday season.  Walmart makes it easy for me to satisfy my guests with tasty treats with everything from appetizers to desserts and everything in between. 

I took Keira with me (yes, at 39 weeks pregnant) to Walmart to pick up some necessities for unexpected guests, and something to bring along Christmas day to my parents house.                             

I really couldn’t believe the variety of products available from Our Finest at Walmart, nor the awesome prices.  I picked up some crispy Tempura Shrimp, Brie Cheese and Apple Phyllo Cups, Mini Cream Puffs, Dark Chocolate thin mints, Belgian biscuits, Praline and Chocolate Mix, and a tin of Shortbread. 

It was had to choose between the yummy selection of appetizers ranging from Cheese and Bacon tarts to Bacon Wrapped Scallops and everything in between.  Everything looked so great!  I did end up settling on the Tempura Shrimp and the Brie Cheese and Apple Phyllo Cups.  I have to admit though, the Tempura Shrimp didn’t even last a day in my freezer, I just had to give them a try!

For those who love ordering up Tempura Shrimp at their favourite Japanese restaurant, you will find that these will easily hold up to your standards.  The Tempura is light and crunchy and the shrimp inside plump and juicy.  These were so good that they were gone quite quickly between the two of us.

 The Mini Cream Puffs were easy to prepare.  They only took 30 minutes to defrost on a plate and I simply sprinkled a little icing sugar over them to make them pretty enough to serve to anyone.  They are actually filled with real cream which makes them highly addictive.  You can’t go wrong with these at only $5!

One of my favourite treats over the holiday season is the Thin Mint.  They are just so good, I could eat a box to myself in one sitting.  Of course that would be naughty so I’m saving some of mine for guests.  I was actually pleasantly surprised to find that these taste spot on, especially since I spent less than half the price on these as I do on my usual brand.  Seriously.  The box is only $3!

I didn’t do any baking as far as Christmas Cookies this year so I was sure to pick up a tin of Belgian Biscuits and Shortbread.  Both are just so delicious and an easy choice.  No guest is going to turn down a plate full of these in front of them with some hot fresh coffee or tea!  Just don’t expect any of those super delicious crispy butter roll cookies from the Belgian collection to make it to that plate.  I already ate them all.    

I also love to have a bowl of nuts on hand for guests to snack on and the resealable container of Praline and Chocolate Mix will be sure to be a bit hit with all those Almonds and Cashews.  Of course Our Finest has other nut mixes but I think this one is the clear winner.

The holidays should be about spending time with friends and family, not worrying about what to serve. Take control of the holiday madness and delight your guests with Our Finest from Walmart!
