Bissell Hard Floor Expert™ Deluxe Review

 BISSELL-logo

Being heavily pregnant and chasing a toddler around all day does not leave you with a whole lot of time or energy for most cleaning chores.  They do have to get done though and I am all for the quick and easy method.  Admittedly I am not great at sweeping during the best of times so I don’t think I need to share how bad it got once I hit about 8 months pregnant.

About half our house has no carpet which is a whole lot of dirty floor to sweep up.  Thankfully my house has more carpet than my moms house which is mostly all beautiful hardwood flooring with a few area rugs.  I can’t imagine having to sweep an area that large!

Bissell sent me over a brand new Hard Floor Expert™ Deluxe to check out, and trust me it came with perfect timing.  The tumbleweeds were rolling around in gangs down my hallway into the kitchen.  No joke.

1161The Hard Floor Expert Deluxe has been engineered for homes with hard floors thanks to the unique air driven turbine hard floor brush.  The Hard Floor brush has been designed to be gentle on all hard floor surfaces and still provide incredibly powerful suction.

I was pretty excited to get cleaning and while the nesting thing probably had a lot to do it with it, I can attribute a love for the ease this vacuum promises to the excitement as well.  I have to admit I already had pretty high expectations for the Bissell Hard Floor Expert™ Deluxe as I already have a Bissell Cleanview Helix Canister Vacuum that I love for dealing with my carpets and upholstery.

I was surprised right away by just how lightweight this vacuum is, I was a little worried about lugging around something normal vacuum sized like the Cleanview.  I kept picturing myself going into labour while cleaning.  Luckily it took little to no effort to maneuver this baby around my house between its lack of weight and swivel steering.

Keira also has a fear of he vacuum, we generally have to get her out of the house to vacuum because she will literally sit and scream until it is over.  The Hard Floor Expert Deluxe though is so quiet – at less than 74dBa – she was even “helping” me vacuum!

Bissell literally thought of everything with this vacuum from being able to control speed and power wirelessly with a remote control on the wand to the easy automatic cord rewind.  No more bending down to change settings and no more messing around with cords!

The Hard Floor Expert Deluxe is also a bagless vacuum which makes use of a Bissell Easy Empty™ Dirt Tank.  It is literally as easy as just removing the canister from the body of the vacuum and dumping it.  No messing around with bags and refills.  Easy peasy.

It doesn’t just come with the Turbine Hard Floor Brush though, it also comes with a crevice tool, dusting brush and even more impressively a combination hard floor and carpet nozzle so you can easily switch between the two materials.  The combo nozzle would be invaluable at my mothers house because of the hardwood flooring and small area rugs.  I did try this nozzle on my carpet and while it did a good job it is clearly not meant for wall to wall flooring but would be amazing for area rugs.

So what did I really think about the Bissell Hard Floor Expert™ Deluxe?  Let’s just say my broom is outside use only now and it will not be replaced!
