You know it’s time to stock your pantry with groceries when you feel that chill in the air. The goal of a pantry is to ensure that weeknight cooking can be made far simpler with the right items on hand. To get your pantry correctly stocked, the best thing you can do is check the dates on the things you already have and throw away things that are past the date or stale. Then get set to organize the chaos that you call the fridge, pantry and gadget drawers. Doing all of this help to get delicious food on the table with less drama and streamline your meal prep time.

Having a variety in your pantry to use when you want to throw something together, is extremely helpful.

Beans – Black beans, kidney beans, chickpeas and more are amazing for chili and pasta dishes, tacos, salads and bean dips. In fact, there are several different mixed beans available in cans. Having these stocked in your pantry is an amazing idea.

Olives – Having Olives in your pantry is important. They work for so many different dishes. Pastas, salsas and more are elevated just by adding olives. Guests coming? Drain a jar of olives and marinate them with lemon, garlic, olive oil and sprinkle of oregano for a delicious and easy appetizer.

Oils – Having a variety of oils on hand is the key to a well stocked pantry. Oil is used in several different cooking applications and is certainly well regarded as a pantry staple. Canola oil, olive oil, coconut oil, and more. There are so many different ones to choose from and all of them have their place in the pantry.

Seasonings – You will also want a pantry that’s stocked with a variety of seasonings. No one wants to eat bland food, and seasonings can be used in many dishes to help make them more flavorful. Some seasonings you might want to consider keeping in your pantry include salt, pepper, oregano, garlic powder, and more. Each of these seasonings should have a permanent place in your pantry.

Grains – Your pantry should also be stocked with an assortment of grains. Flour and oats would fall under this category and can be used in many different types of recipes. Other grains that should be kept on hand include different types of noodles and pastas. These are great ingredients to have available for quick and easy meals when you’re busy.

A well stocked pantry always contains staple ingredients that help to hold a meal together. From canned tomatoes to grains, it is important to ensure that your pantry is efficient and ready for anything, including last minute guests.
