When it comes to deep cleaning your house you might think of all the usual spots to clean from baseboards to your oven. Let’s face it though, there are a myriad of spots to tackle in a home and you are bound to miss a few. Check out these ten places you forgot to clean during your last spring cleaning!
You would be amazed how much dirt and dust collects on outlet covers. An old toothbrush and a microfiber cloth is your friend for dealing with these. Simply wipe with a damp (not wet) microfiber cloth and scrub any tough spots with the old tooth brush. Return child proofing covers.
Under the Crispers in your Refrigerator
Spills happen and when they happen in the fridge they always end up under the crispers. Regular cleaning prevents the Ewww factor.
Grime and mildew can build up in the crack between the faucet and the wall rather quickly. A good scrub with an old toothbrush and your favorite mold fighting disinfectant can get it shining like new. Make a habit of doing this once a week and it will stay shiny and clean.
Edges of the Sink
Another spot to watch out for is the edges of the sink. You know the spot where the sink meets the counter? Yeah that spot can get very icky. Scrub it with an old toothbrush and be sure to wipe dry after washing dishes for easy maintenance.
The Rubber Seal on your Refrigerator Door
Mold and dirt build up in the seal around the door of your refrigerator. A good wipe down every couple months keeps it clean and improves the seal of the door keeping cold air in and hot air out helping keep your power bill down and your food fresh.
Crumbs and dust collect in your toaster. Unplug your toaster and flip it over. Open the hatch on the bottom and shake out your toaster. Give it a really good shake. Wipe down areas you can reach with a damp cloth. Return to normal and run the toast feature with nothing in it to burn off dust that may have shifted during cleaning.
Dust, lint, and odd laundry leftovers take overs can build up in laundry baskets along with germs. A quick wipe with a disinfectant gets them clean and germ free again. Wipe down after emptying into the wash and your basket is clean and ready for when the dryer is done.
Toothbrushes are germ hot spots. Soak regularly in a solution of hydrogen peroxide and water or in. Rinse well before use. Replace toothbrushes every three months.
Cobwebs collect dust and bugs. A quick sweep along ceiling corners is a great way to get rid of dusty cobwebs. Just do a quick swipe while sweeping. If you would like them gone for good spray lemon pledge furniture polish onto the walls and ceiling. The spiders will not return to that area.
Fans are the ultimate dust collector. Take them apart and wash regularly to reduce dust in your home.
