Where to Stay as a Family in the Outaouis Region of Quebec

If you are looking for ideal family accommodations in the Outaouis Region of Quebec we have found some great options!

Gatineau, Quebec

The Ramada Plaza Gatineau/Outaouais is an ideal family accommodations in Gatineau because of it’s central location and spacious two level suites.

The two level suites offer two separate sleeping areas and bathrooms with plenty of space for the whole family to relax and enjoy their stay.

In addition to the sleeping area with fireplace, the main floor includes a large washroom with a whirlpool tub and a comfortable sitting area. The tub is the perfect size for bathing little ones before sending them up to the second floor sleeping area. The second floor does have its own washroom with a shower which is ideal for family with older children.

Adjoining rooms are available too if you are travelling with a large family.

We also loved the large free parking lot.

The girls were super excited to share a bed in their own “bedroom”, and went to sleep easily, leaving us able to stay up and watch some television before going to sleep ourselves.

The Ramada Plaza Manoir du Casino is an ideal family accommodation in Gatineau, Quebec that I would recommend.

Montebello, Quebec

If you are looking for a unique experience during your travels in the Outaouias region of Quebec, you will definitely want to arrange an overnight stay in Parc Oméga.

Staying overnight at Parc Oméga offers the unique opportunity to sleep surrounded by bears and wolves. The accommodations are rustic and located on the mountain side surrounded by deer. You have the option of a variety of different campsites including cabins like the log cabin we stayed in.

The log cabins feature beautifully detailed carvings on their exterior and are solar powered. While you can’t charge your phone, you do have access to working light fixtures which is nice. It also includes a queen bed and 2 single beds with mattress, pillows and pillow cases with optional bedding available if desired.

Inside you will also find a table with chairs, drinking water, as well as wood heating inside. Outside is a table and chairs on the deck with an outdoor firepit complete with benches and a cookinf grill. There is an organic toilet on site which was actually nice and clean and odour free.

The setup is far closer to glamping than actual camping and even includes optional valet service to your site from the parking area.

The camp sites are near the bears and wolf enclosures and you have exclusive access to the boardwalk where you can see them up close in complete safety.

While itself is open year round, accommodations are only available to be booked from May to October 31st. This is an unforgettable experience for the whole family and definitely worth staying at for the memories alone.

Montebello, Quebec

The  Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello is the perfect place to stay during your stay in the Outaouis Region of Quebec if you are looking for family activities, luxury and plenty of relaxing. I know you are thinking right now that one of those things doesn’t belong with others, but I promise you this place is magic.

We stayed in a room with two double beds, which was ideal for our family. The room also included a desk, closet, full bathroom with bathtub and shower  – all with the rustic decor one might find in a log cabin in the woods. The chalet-inspired decor gives the entire space a feeling of warmth and comfort.

What really sets the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello apart from other hotels is that it is setup like a resort with year-round activities offered to guests. Le Chateau offers so much more than just a place to rest your head while travelling; it offers a retreat from life and complete relaxation with a full spa as well as plenty of activities for families including an indoor pool and outdoor pool.

You could also fill your days on their 18-hole golf course, or playing mini golf, squash, tennis or hiking. In the winter you can experience a dogsled ride or hop on a snowmobile, take a sleigh ride, curl or cross-country ski over 26 kilometers of well-groomed trails.

There is just so much to do that you will need to check out the full list of the resort’s offerings in the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello Activity Guide.

You won’t want to leave this hotel to go out to eat as The Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello features world class cuisine that will delight both the young and old. Our family really enjoyed the Château Montebello’s Barbecue which is an all you can eat buffet style offering proteins grilled to your specifications right in front of you. There are more formal dining options as well as the less formal Bistro but we enjoyed eating outdoors by the river. Everything was fresh and delicious. It was a truly memorial meal.

I really recommend the Fairmont Le Chateau Montebello whether you are on a family road trip, planning a  romantic getaway, or simply looking to enjoy a little me time. I cannot wait to return and enjoy all the fabulous amenities.

Quebec is such a beautiful place to visit. I love the log cabin where you stayed. Very different from hotel's room that I often see. I also love that kids can enjoy nature and animals in that place. Keep safe.
