Both my girls love My Little Pony and each has their own favourite ponies. Keira, 4, loves Princess Celestia and Ava, 2, adores Rainbow Dash (also known as Rainbow Gash in our hoyse.) Keira has the My Little Pony Cutie Mark Magic Canterlot Castle which I reviewed last year, and the two of them are always busy making up stories with their ponies.
New this year, and sure to be a top gift, is the My Little Pony Explore Equestria Crystal Empire Castle. This playset features rotating light-up cutie mark shapes at the press of a heart-shaped button, accessories and Princess Cadance and Baby Flurry Heart. The playset has 2 staircases and can be played wit from both sides.
The accessories really make for fun play acting and include a dress, throne, crystal vanity, cradle, and jewels. There are also 2 closets that have shelves that can spin and a swing for Baby Flurry Heart!
The girls love styling Princess Cadance with the royal fashion accessories included – a comb, 2 tiaras and jewellery. She even has a vanity mirror she can use to check herself out.
Baby Flurry Heart is fun to swing or care for in her cradle with her bottle. There are so many different “stories” for kids to play out with this castle, and each one is made truly magical thanks to the fun sparkle walls and light-up feature.
The castle does need to be assembled, but it was very straightforward to simple. The only frustration with the construction is that the seat of the swing often comes away from the back of it which frustrated Ava when she is playing, but she was able to learn how to fix it herself. A very simple fix.
You can also scan the ponys code to unlock more fun in the My Little Pony Friendship Celebration app.
The price point is also very reasonable and quite affordable for the size and quality of this playset. The girls have had the My Little Pony Explore Equestria Crystal Empire Castle for about 3 weeks now and I foresee it being played with as much as the Canterlot Castle is still played with. It is sure to make any My Little Pony fan happy!
