Ghost Towns

There are a large number of ghost towns found in Nevada, each with their own attractions and historical experiences.  Some ghost towns are unpopulated bu still have abandoned buildings, while others support a small number of full-time residents. Some are now museums or historical sites. It’s a great way to step back into Nevada’s Silver mining past where towns popped up during the silver boom and were abandoned when the mines closed. Some were mining camps and more were supply points or mills established to support nearby mines.  Ghost towns are certainly part of Nevada’s charm and worth a visit along the way.

While this is in no way a complete list of the things to do and see in Nevada, these are the top sites your family will enjoy visiting.

Great list of must-see places in Nevada. I would also include Virginia City due to its deep history of mining. Red Rock National Park looks awesome.
