Heading to the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership Launch Party #PottyPartnership

Keira, my now 4 year old, basically potty trained herself.  When she was about 16 months old she started letting us know when she had to use the potty or wanted a clean diaper.  I was pregnant with Ava, my now 2 year old, though so I didn’t do much potty training with her beyond getting her a potty,  and having her sit on it before and after both naptime and bedtime .

By the time she was 2 she was happily in Pull-Ups and asking to use the potty regularly.  It wasn’t long before she asked to wear “big girl underwear” and before she was 2 and a half she potty trained for both day and night.  Just like that she basically potty trained herself with very few incidents during her transition period.  It was basically a dream.

Unfortunately, most children do not just potty train themselves, and for most parents it seems to take a whole lot of experimenting and guessing to get it right.

Ava is now at the point where she has a potty and uses it at regular points in the day but still relies on the safety net of Pull-Ups.  She is definitely interested in potty training but is lacking the motivation to do things by herself the way Keira did at her age, and that is OK.  What that means for me though, is that it is like I’m trying to navigate the waters of potty training for the very first time.

I’m so excited to be taking Ava along with me to the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership Launch Party, taking place at Disneyland® in Anaheim, California on Friday, April 8th!  I am really looking forward to creating magical memories with Ava – who is currently mostly thrilled about her very first plane ride.

I’m also really looking forward to learning how to embrace Ava’s unique personality to help us effectively get her potty trained through the new Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership.  It’s a whole new way to potty train based on your child’s unique personality, schedule and how they learn best. Like most parents, I really want to be able to support her on this huge change in her life, continue to encourage her while she potty trains and the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership will help us achieve just that.

I took the potty personality quiz for Ava and discovered she is  a puppy – puppies are ready and willing to potty train. They tend to be regular in their habits, so they just need to learn the routine. They are extremely motivated by treats.  You can take the potty personality quiz and discover your own child’s potty personality!

We are all packed up and ready to go on our trip – we have everything we need to survive that first plane trip with plenty of distractions, healthy snacks and of course – Pull-Ups!

While we are at the event, Ava will be able to take part in fun crafts and engaging activities designed for her unique Potty personality and meet some of her favourite Disney characters!  Celebrity mom and spokesperson Jaime King, will be on-site as host where she will be sharing with us her own potty training tips and tricks and her own potty training experience with her son, James.

I’m really looking forward to sharing with you all that I learn at the Pull-Ups® Potty Partnership Launch Party and hope you follow along during our trip to California!  Just follow along and join in with hashtag #PottyPartnership on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook!

What is your child’s Potty personality?

I well remember the days of potty training and having had 7 children I can only emphasis that each child is different. Don't push but do encourage, they are so proud when they have been on the real toilet/potty instead of their diaper. Some just don't really care then you just have to wait until they are ready.

Sounds super fun, have a great time! My girl was fairly easy to potty train, unlike my boy!
