Skinnygirl: Naturally Flavoured Single Serve Cocktail Inspired Tea

Skinnygirl: Naturally Flavoured Single Serve Cocktail Inspired Tea

For as long as I can remember my choice of tea has always been orange pekoe and I can tell you that I’ve been trained to make the perfect pot of tea.  I can also tell you that my husband thinks that the English way of making tea and the habit of never washing one’s teapot is just not right.  Tea making, my friends, is almost always bound to create marital tension in my home.  (Just for the record though, my way is the right way.)

Ah, but Skinnygirl has come to rescue our relationship with a variety of cocktail inspired teas in the form of Keurig 2.0 compatible single serve tea cups.  Now when I make a cup of delicious Peach Bellini flavoured green tea, my brown betty never makes an appearance and my husband is happy.   I even caught him making a perfect cup of Sangria Hibiscus herbal tea for himself the other day!

Skinnygirl: Naturally Flavoured Single Serve Cocktail Inspired Tea

Skinnygirl single serve cocktail inspired teas are available in a variety of flavours including:

  • Sangria Hibiscus Herbal Tea
  • Mojito Mint Green Tea
  • Cranberry Cosmo White Tea
  • Peach Bellini Green Tea

They are all quite good, but the Peach Bellini definitely stood out as a favourite of mine.   It has all the flavour of sweet, ripe and juicy peaches.  It reminded me of the amazing peach juice you could get at Tim Hortons when it was still prepared in the old cold juice dispensers.  It’s sweet enough that you will not want to add sugar or honey to your tea, it is perfect enough as is!

My husband really enjoys the Skinnygirl Sangria Hibiscus herbal tea.  In Jamaica, there is a particular type of Hibiscus known as Sorrel that is made into a beverage typically enjoyed over the holidays.   My husband mentioned how much the Sangria Hibiscus herbal tea reminded him of it, and thus Christmas at home.  It has a somewhat tart, but still sweet almost cranberry-ish flavour that is quite nice.

The Cranberry Cosmo  is also a nice combination of sweet and tart with just a hint of citrus flavour.  It is a flavour that will be especially nice to drink over the coming winter.

Last, but not least, the Mojito Mint green tea – a refreshing blend of mint and lime flavours.  It’s a nice pick me up on a lazy afternoon when you need to just get going!

Skinnygirl also has a variety of other beverages available in single serve cups including Americano Dark Roast coffee, Half Caff Medium Roast coffee and Hot Cocoa. All Skinnygirl coffees are proudly grown on Rainforest Alliance Certified™ Farms that have been recognized for their social and environmental responsibility.

The Americano Dark Roast coffee has a bold dark roast flavour that I quite enjoyed .  The Half Caff proved useful when I needed just one more cup at 2 am while working on a post.  It has a nice smooth flavour that goes down easily. It’s hard to believe that the hot cocoa is actually calorie reduced since it has such rich, chocolatey flavour.

The Cranberry Cosmo sounds delicious. I love drinking tea in the fall and winter. This sounds like a flavour I would love to try.
