AVEENO® Baby Daily Care #AVEENOBabySkin

When we first brought Keira home we noticed she started having awful rashes.  At first her pediatrician thought it was eczema but after asking about her bath time routine he ended up recommending we switch to the AVEENO® Baby Daily Care line.  With that switch her skin cleared up and was left soft and smooth just like a baby’s skin should be.

We’ve tried other products since and have found a few we do like but we always come back to the AVEENO® Baby Daily Care line as the products are hypoallergenic, contain soothing natural ingredients and leave baby smelling like a baby without the use of heavy fragrances.

The AVEENO® Baby Wash & Shampoo is what we’ve stuck with for Ava’s bath-time care since we brought her home as a newborn. I knew from Keira that it is gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin so to avoid skin issues altogether we went for the best natural choice available in my books.  You will notice that it is translucent and not dyed a “cute” colour but what you can’t see is that it is actually soap-free. 

It’s also tear free which becomes important after bath-time hair styling at Mommy’s Salon and Spa.  I love making bath time as fun as possible for both the girls and myself and nothing beats the classic fun of styling your kids hair with shampoo.  I remember my dad always styling mine into a horn.  Seriously, if you don’t do this, you are missing out!

What makes the AVEENO® Baby Wash & Shampoo work so well are the ACTIVE NATURALS® ingredients that help to keep baby’s skin looking and feeling soft and smooth. It works to soothe and nourish with moisturizing oat formulas that contain 5 vital nutrients.

The other thing I like about the AVEENO® Baby Wash & Shampoo is that it’s a two in one product so I don’t need to buy a separate shampoo and baby wash.  I don’t have to have a dozen bottles at the tub with me and I don’t have to struggle to open another bottle after washing her hair.  I can simply reach for the same bottle I just washed her hair with.  It’s really amazing how well this product works on both her skin and her hair.

I’ve found that this works really well in both Ava’s hair and Keira’s.  Ava’s hair is still soft but thick and curly while Keira has decidedly Afro-textured hair.  Having curly thick hair myself, I know that even the slightest curl requires more moisture than straight hair so I love that the AVEENO® Baby Wash & Shampoo does a great job of providing the necessary moisture for both my girls.

After bath-time we continue our routine with AVEENO® Baby Daily Lotion which does an amazing job at providing the moisture a baby’s skin requires.  We use it after bath-time but we also use it throughout the day on both girls to make sure their skin remains soft and smooth.

The formula contains colloidal oatmeal which works to soothe itchy and scratchy dry skin.  I can’t tell you enough how well this product worked on Ava’s over-baked and flaking newborn skin. It really is perfect for newborns as it is hypoallergenic, fragrance-free and paraben-free.   It absorbs quickly to moisturize for a full 24 hours without any of that greasy-feeling some lotions leave behind.

I really cannot recommend using the AVEENO® Baby Wash & Shampoo and the AVEENO® Baby Daily Lotion in combination enough as part of your baby’s daily bath time routine. It really packs a punch full of wonderful nutrients for your baby from head to toe but is gentle enough for sensitive newborn skin.  It really doesn’t get better than this.
