Romantic Weekend Getaway Ideas

Romantic Weekend Getaway Ideas perfect for Valentines Day or just for a little romance away from the kids.

Although you enjoy spending every day with your spouse, sticking to the same schedule and always going to the same places can wear on you. As a couple, you want to make sure you’re keeping the romance alive in your relationship, and this can be hard if you don’t put forth the necessary effort to keep your relationship strong. A romantic weekend getaway is just what you need to rejuvenate yourself and to spend quality time with your loved one.

River Cruise

If you want to get away for a day or two, try taking a river cruise. The second you and your significant other step off the dock, you’ll feel like you’re the only two in the world. Not only will you love the privacy of a river cruise, you’ll also love how easy it is to cuddle up to your loved one watching the beautiful sights drift by.

Bed & Breakfast

Regardless of where you live, there are probably at least a few bed & breakfasts nearby. If you’re ready for a romantic weekend getaway, book your stay at a bed & breakfast. A bed & breakfast tends to have a more romantic and private atmosphere compared to a hotel, allowing you and your significant other to spend quality time together renewing your relationship.

Camp Out

Although it might not seem romantic initially, going camping for the weekend is a great way for you and your spouse to get away from the hustle and bustle of your everyday life. If you enjoy rustic adventures, you can pack a tent and find a romantic place to stay under the stars. If you prefer more comfortable accommodations, try renting a cabin surrounded by nature. Anytime it’s just you and your spouse together, you’re sure to have a romantic time.

Step Back in Time

Another great weekend getaway idea is to go back in time. Try recreating your first date, even if it was just down the road from where you live now. Rent a hotel room and spend the entire weekend reliving those special moments as you were getting to know each other. This can include everything from the first date, first kiss, and first time you said, “I love you.”

Every couple needs a romantic getaway every once in a while. If you and your spouse are overdue for some time away, you can set aside a weekend for a romantic getaway that will rejuvenate your relationship. What are your favourite weekend getaways?

After 41 years together and 38 married we still find time to have romantic getaways. It might just be a stroll along the beach pathway holding hands and then stopping for an ice cream cone. These are moments we both treasure
