How to Dress Baby for Holiday Parties

How to Dress Baby for Holiday Parties

When I found out I was having a girl the first time I was thrilled at the thought of all the pretty little dresses and outfits.  I dreamed about changing her outfit a thousand times a day just for the fun of it.  Reality of course was that while I did change her outfit what seemed like a thousand times a day, it was usually because of leaky diapers or food splatter.  Still dressing up my two girls is a lot of fun and there is nothing I love more than getting them into pretty little dresses for family events.

During the holiday season, social calendars fill up fast. Between visiting and welcoming relatives, school and work events and the occasional juice and cheese, the holidays are a time when your hungry caterpillars are transformed into little social butterflies. It’s important, therefore, that they look the part! Disney Baby has put together some great tips for dressing your little ones this holiday season, so they’re ready to hit the party scene in style!

Tip #1: Choose cool colours

Just because winter can be grey and dull, doesn’t mean you child’s clothing has to be! The holidays are the perfect time to push the colour envelope. Try a festive combination like red and green or choose a cheery bodysuit to brighten the occasion.

Tip #2: Rock a ruffle

For the little ladies in your life, the holidays are a great time to add some extra pizzazz. Have fun with your baby’s outfit, by letting her rock a little ruffle. Disney Baby has some adorable skirted creepers that are perfect for any festive occasion – this one even has some cheetah print for a little seasonal sass!

Tip #3: Comfort is key

Parties are exciting and all that fun can quickly tucker a wee one out. A tight or itchy outfit will seem even more so if your baby is feeling cranky. Make sure you choose fabrics that feel nice and have a bit of stretch to them, so that your little one can enjoy the occasion in comfort and style.

Tip #4: Play with patterns

Elevate your baby’s ensemble by adding some visual interest. Mixing florals and plaid or stripes and polka dots will instantly give your little one’s outfit some festive flair. Silly socks are another great way to add a playful pop.

Tip #5: Select seasonal sleepers

If you know your little one won’t make it through the party, bring a jolly jumpsuit so they can slumber in style. This velour sleeper is a cozy choice, which will make your baby look as Christmassy as a candy cane.

No matter what outfit you opt for, it’s always a good idea to bring a back up. Accidents happen, and it helps to be prepared for a quick wardrobe change!
