Halloween Kitty Cookies

These Halloween Kitty Cookies are a Spooky feline treat perfect for kids Halloween parties!

If you loved the Halloween Kitty Cupcakes I shared last week with you, check out these super cute Halloween Kitty Cookies! These Halloween Kitty Cookies are a Spooky feline treat perfect for kids Halloween parties!

 Halloween Kitty Cookies

Cat Cookie Ingredients –

1 package of Betty Crocker sugar cookie mix

chocolate frosting for the cat’s face

chocolate sprinkles for the cat’s face

black licorice, cut into strips for whiskers (I seriously looked high and low for black licorice string and could not find it)

yellow M&M’s for eyes

Wilton black edible marker

1 6ct. Package of Hershey bars for ears

Valentine candy heart for nose (this is what I happened to have on hand – you could use an M&M too if you wish)

Directions –

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees and line your baking sheets with parchment paper.

Mix the Betty Crocker sugar cookie dough according to package directions (1 stick of butter softened and 1 egg) and place the dough in the fridge for about 20 minutes to set up.

Remove the dough from the fridge and use a small cookie scoop to scoop the dough and then roll into even balls. You might need some flour on your hands for this as the dough might be sticky.

Bake according the the package directions and let cool.

Assembling your Cats –

While the cookies are cooling take your black edible marker and draw an iris onto each cat eye. It doesn’t have to be perfect and if you goof, turn it over and use the other side. That’s what I did. 😉

Generously frost each round cookie with chocolate frosting.

Give the cookie two eyes, a nose and some whiskers using the black licorice.

Next, sprinkle the chocolate sprinkles all over the cat’s face – they will stick to the frosting.

Finally, break your Hershey bars into the little rectangles and then cut in half with kitchen scissors.

Take each chocolate half and snip into a triangle shape and give your cat 2 ears by pressing them down into the frosting at a small angle.

That’s it! Repeat with your other cookies. Super easy to make – just a few steps to follow and the certainly do not have to be perfect.
