Easter Made Easy with Our Finest #WalmartEaster

My family (as in my parents, brother and sister) celebrates Easter and we usually enjoy a big meal together after the Easter Service on Sunday.  We usually enjoy a nice big ham or a leg of lamb with potatoes and vegetables follow up with something sweet.

This year I was challenged to shop at Walmart to get everything I needed for our family Easter dinner and beyond.

I planned out a delicious dinner for my family including an appetizer, ham, scalloped potatoes, green beans, carrots and a Kale and Brussel Sprout raw salad with almonds and cranberries, finished with some dessert.  Doesn’t that just make your mouth water at the thought of all that yummy food?  I don’t even eat pork and I am tempted by the thought of this spread!

This will be Ava’s very first Easter.  It will also be the first Easter Keira can actively participate in so I’m excited to do our first Easter Egg hunt with her! So exciting!

My first stop was the Easter section to get the supplies for our egg hunt.  I found some delicious sounding Lindor eggs that may be just as much for me as they are for Keira.  I also found a Winnie the Pooh chocolate that I know Keira will adore.  Everything right now is “Pooh pooh” so it was the perfect find.  I also picked up a chocolate scented bunny that she is going to go crazy for.  I couldn’t leave Ava out, so I got her a pretty pink Easter bunny (they have them in blue too!)

Next it was off to get all our dinner essentials.  I found an amazing Spiral Hickory Ham from Our Finest.  It comes in half a ham and a quarter.  I picked up the quarter since I don’t want any ham left over and my parents are not big eaters.  I’m kind of excited about the ham, it looks pretty great but easy to prep and serve.

I checked out the frozen aisle and found some delicious appetizers from Our Finest and ended up picking out the cheese puff pastry appetizers.  I also grabbed some chocolate cheesecake bites and Triple Berry Blossoms also from Our Finest to finish off our meal.

Last stop was the fresh produce.  I love shopping at Walmart for our produce because it is always so great looking and they always have a selection of foods that I sometimes find hard to get at some grocery stores (eddoes are a big one!).  I grabbed some carrots, beans, onions and potatoes for our sides.  Next was Salad ingredients – the freshest looking Kale and brussel sprouts, affordably priced dried cranberries, slivered almonds and a bottle of Our Finest Balsamic Vinaigrette.

I was really tempted to pick up some items for an Easter craft or an Egg Decorating kit.  There was a really cute Hello Kitty Egg Decorating kit that I found but since we are moving soon I am not sure there will be time for any fun like that.

When I checked everything out I was shocked to find out I was under $80 after taxes.  I mean seriously, I got everything I needed to host an amazing and delicious Easter dinner plus Easter fun for the girls!  I felt like a bit of a super hero checking out… especially when I realized I had everything covered all at one store.

I held a “practice Easter Dinner” for my family  with my purchases and everything went over quite well.  I don’t normally eat pork but since I had made the spiral ham for my family I had a slice and it was really, really delicious and juicy.  My parents were really impressed with it.

As a mom of a 3 month old and a 2 year old, you can bet I love anything that saves me time and effort so Walmart is a real winner when it comes to a one stop shop.  Not to mention the savings!
