Tiny Love Gymini Developlace Review and Giveaway

Tiny Love Gymini Developlace

For over 20 yeas now Tiny Love’s Gymini activity mat has been a trusted household name found on many baby registry’s.    This year, Tiny Love has added to the classic Gymini line with the new Gymini Developlace.  The Gymini Developlace, is a vibrant and versatile infant activity centre that converts from a floor mat to a crawling tunnel making it appropriate for use from your newborns very first days right up through the toddler years.

When the Gymini Developlace first arrived I was really excited to get it setup for Ava and was happy to find it was really uncomplicated to setup.  It also looks just as easy to convert from stage to stage.

I really love the bright and colourful nature theme of this activity centre, the smiling animals covering the mat are so fun!  As a mother of two girls I really appreciate that it is very gender neutral.   I love pink, but I don’t think I could handle more pink around the house!  This also means that if we do have a boy at some point that we won’t need to be on the search for yet another activity centre.

Ava is now two months old (when did that happen?) and enjoys playing in the activity centre on her back with the toys hanging over her so she can kick and bat at them.  I think she really loves the high contrast of most of the toys, especially the black and white underside of the squirrel.  The squirrel caught her attention right from the start.  She is happy to just stare right up at the black and white pictures and coo and smile at it.  So adorable!

The toys are easy to re-position around the activity centre to keep things new and interesting which really helps to stimulate a younger infant.  I use this feature to group a bunch of toys around Ava wherever I put her down but it is also useful for the times she starts to feel over stimulated.  Another feature I think is great to help with over stimulation is that you can bring up one of the sides to create a more closed in space.

Alternatively this feature can also be used to help stimulate your baby during tummy time.  All the graphics on the mat itself as well as the activities, such as peek-a-boo through the round window, which really help make tummy time engaging which in turn extends the amount of time your baby will be happy to stay on their tummy.  Tummy time is a great way to help strengthen your infants muscles and it can help prevent your infant from forming a flat head.

Tummy Time

Once your baby becomes more mobile and starts to crawl you can fold up the sides to create a tunnel they will love play in right through to the toddler years.  The walls of the activity centre are also full of fun activities to help them develop and to keep them engaged once they are able to sit up on their own.

I really love how versatile the activity centre is since the toys are able to adjust in use to match your baby’s development.  I really love when baby equipment can grow with baby to extend the life of the product and the Gymini® Developlace™ from Tiny Love certainly does a great job of doing that.

What a great site. I especially liked the information on baby development and how they match up each product to a specific skill and age range.
