Get Peace of Mind while Winter Driving with CAA

caa2

Driving can be a challenge at the best of times, but for us Canadians, winter can pose its own unique challenges.  I will never forget the first Winter I had my Mustang, not only was I an inexperienced driver but we seemed to get dumped on more than the usual amount.  Then throw in the fact that I’d never driven a rear wheel vehicle before.  To say I  got stuck a couple of times would be more than a mild understatement.

While I now have the confidence, experience and know how when it comes to driving during our winter I still make sure I always carry my CAA Roadside assistance card with me everywhere.  I know first hand that even when driving carefully, and with winter tires on, it is easy to lose control if you happen to hit black ice.  I personally would never want to be stuck in a ditch off the road without having the security of being able to rely on CAA’s various roadside services.  They can quickly be on site to get your car towed out safely and if need be taken to the auto repair facility of your choice.

One of the worst situations I can think of would be to get a flat during a winter storm with extreme cold weather.  Now, I’m not going to lie, while I definitely know how to change a tire, I’d rather just call CAA or get my husband to change it for me.  Even on a nice warm, sunny day.  I feel paranoid that I haven’t tightened things back up and I’m going to lose the tire while driving.  Even if you are an expert at changing tires and feel comfortable going out in that -30 degree weather in the middle of a snow storm to change that flat, your vehicle’s component may not be up to co-operating with you.

Thankfully, CAA Members get access to towing services*, battery replacement, flat tire service, emergency fuel & delivery, lockout services and Member-exclusive savings and rewards.  Even during adverse weather conditions,  Roadside Assistance** from CAA is available 24/7, 365 days a year.  It gives me great peace of mind to know that no matter what CAA is just a call away!

Don’t forget that being a CAA Member also gives you exclusive access to a wealth of savings opportunities and discounts at many of your favourite retailers.   Save on holiday gifts at Payless Shoes, the Banana Republic Factory Store, the GAP Factory Store & more!

One of my parents' best piece of advice was to sign up for CAA, and I have always appreciated it. It's so worth it.
