Get ready for baby with the Philips AVENT Naturals Essentials Set #Giveaway #AVENTmomsCA

Expecting a baby is a very exciting time for most parents.  I remember how excited I was to get everything I needed when I found out we were expecting Keira.  I’m talking everything from the crib and stroller right down to bibs.

One item I didn’t think about buying was bottles and needed accessories for bottle feeding.  I was going to breastfeed after-all, what would I need bottles for?

Little did I know that Keira would arrive at only 29 weeks gestation and bottles would become a huge part of our lives even despite being successful at breastfeeding once she was old enough to nurse.   Bottle feeding turned out to be a blessing for us once she was discharged, I was able to get a break now and then while my husband bottle fed Keira my expressed breast milk.  It was a great opportunity for him, as a new father, to really bond with his daughter and I am thankful for it.

The best part was that when Keira did wean herself from breast milk we were able to easily switch to cow milk in a bottle as she was already used to bottles.  I can only imagine what some moms have to go through in this situation if they have not introduced a bottle by that point.

Now that we are expecting baby #2, I am definitely open to expressing and bottle feeding occasionally once we have established breastfeeding.   The one thing we needed for this baby was a good bottle set but problem solved – I was sent The Philips AVENT Natural Essentials Set and it contains literally everything new parents will need for safe, easy feeding and sterilizing.

The Philips AVENT Natural Essentials Set includes two 4-ounce and two 9-ounce BPA-free bottles featuring a clinically proven twin anti-colic valves within the nipple that reduces the amount of air getting into baby’s tummy.  The nipple is also breast-shaped with comfort petals for a more comfortable feeding experience. The set also includes an express microwave sterilizer which cleans bottles in just two minutes. Finally it includes two newborn silicone Soothie pacifiers to calm newborns while respecting the shape of their growing mouths and a rounded-head bottle brush that helps clean every inch of baby’s feeding supplies.

The best part is that the bottles and nipples are interchangeable with other Natural Philips AVENT bottles or nipples.

We really love this set and have been using it for Keira’s morning bottle.  The bottles are easy to assemble and just as easy to clean plus they do not leak and drip all over.  This is a bonus for me as Keira loves to drip milk from her leaky bottles all over herself.  The things that amuse 19 month olds…

The sterilizer has been really handy for us as I know the bottles are getting a really good clean when needed and it is so much quicker than boiling bottles over the stove in a pot.

One thing I was always against prior to having Keira was the use of pacifiers.  She needed one in the hospital to learn to suck as well as for comfort and by the time she was discharged I was happy to let her have one.  I did try to wean her off the hospital pacifier to a “cuter” one but she wouldn’t have anything to do with it.  The pacifiers included are the same type many hospitals use so although Keira self-weaned off her pacifier at 6 months I know the ones included in this set are really great.
