Play-Doh Valentines Bag – Treat without the Sweet!

Play-Doh Valentines Bag - Treat without the Sweet!

When I was a kid I just loved Valentine’s Day at school.  You may have similar memories of making your own pretty mailbox for your classmates to drop in Valentine’s Day Cards and Candy.  Oh the candy!  Cinnamon hearts, Chocolate, Message Hearts… I’m sure my mother was thrilled when I came home on a sugar rush!

These days allergies are a concern not to mention healthy lifestyles and giving out candy is not as welcome as it used to be.

This year Keira is in daycare and has a few preschool friends to give out special treats to.  I know I would not be too happy should she receive sugary treats so she will be giving out a really special treat to her friends instead!

Hasbro came to our rescue with their Valentines Bag including 15 individual one-ounce cans of specially packaged Play-Doh in red, white and pink.  What a cute way to offer a healthy and fun alternative to candy and chocolate!  Their size also makes them perfect for your child to deliver to their Valentine‘s” mailbox.

The bag also includes stickers to put on the lid so your child can easily label the “to” and “from”.  That way their class-mates will know who the rock-star was that broke the mold of the usual Valentine’s day swap.  I can almost guarantee these little tubs of play-doh will be the best offering in the class; sorry message hearts!  These Treats “without the sweet” are sure to be a big hit with kids, parents and teachers alike.

Oh I like the smell of play doh too! Unfortunately, it's not gluten-free so kids like my son cannot use it since gluten can be absorbed through the skin. :( Good idea otherwise though!

Ahh Good info, I knew they are labelled as having wheat but figured it was a precaution for kids like me (Play-Doh eaters!). I had no idea it could be absorbed through the skin.

Ya, I agree, this is a great idea instead of a sugary treat. I love the smell of Play Doh!
