Rock n’ Roll Baby – Lullaby Arrangements of Bob Marley

Rock n' Roll Baby - Lullaby Arrangements of Bob Marley

Babies love music and Keira is no exception.  Since she came home from the hospital I’ve sung her lullabies and just about every other song I knew the lyrics to.

When in the car I love to listen to CDs rather than the radio, however so many CDs in my collection contain bad language and adult messages and we are (of course) very selective in what gets played around her. When I take her for a drive in my car I feel safe playing Reggae classics like Toots and the Maytals, Freddie McGregor and Bob Marley.

She also has her own CD player thanks to a clever baby shower gift so I often play her CD’s when we are cuddling or at nap-time in lieu of her sleep sheep.

 Lullaby Arrangements of Bob Marley

When I saw that Rock n’ Roll Baby was releasing Lullaby Arrangements of Bob Marley I was really excited for Keira to give it a listen.  Reggae is a huge part of our household as my husband is Jamaican and I also grew up listening to Bob Marley before (and after) I eventually discovered more modern forms of Reggae.

Lullaby Arrangements of Bob Marley includes 15 lullaby arrangements of some of Bob Marley’s most classic tunes including One Love, Jammin and Could You Be Loved.  I was a little curious and amused when I found it also featured I Shot the Sheriff, Get Up Stand Up and Buffalo Soldier.  It was a little disconcerting to imagine I Shot the Sheriff as a soothing, tender lullaby for my daughter to fall asleep to but I found it was actually really cute!

The entire CD is full of mellow and pleasant musical renditions of Bob Marley which both my husband and I enjoy listening to.  Keira also has favourites from the CD judging by the giant smile on her face as she recognises the music not to mention all the bouncing around and “dancing” she does while the CD is playing during playtime.  Lullaby Arrangements of Bob Marley is also great at nap-time as it nearly instantaneously manages to calm and soothe her into dreamland.

Rock n’ Roll Baby has made us realise that traditional nursery songs aren’t the only option come nap-time! They also have other fun looking titles such as Totally 80s Vol. 1, Punk Baby and their latest “Top 40 Hits – Volume 1″ if Bob Marley isn’t your thing.

Buy It:  Shop the above mentioned titles and more at Rock n’ Roll Baby’s online store!  You will love that you can preview the songs prior to making your decision!

This is a great idea…we listen to a lot of Sesame Street music in the car…but I’ve about had it with “Elmo’s song”… :) This would be a great break for my sanity!

How cool, we are Bob Marley fans, so it would be neat to have this for my Grandsons to listen to. :)
