The Dermagist Complete Rejuvenation System is a 3 product kit including a Jar of Original Smoothing Cream, a Bottle of Dynamic Age Defying Serum, a Bottle of Instant-Effect Lifting Serum and an Instruction sheet detailing how to use the products. Dermagist claims that this system is formulated to attack all the signs of aging from wrinkles, to enlarges pored, age spots, redness, wrinkles and fine lines! Now that is a claim!
The system makes use of two special active ingredients: Matrixyl and Renovage. Matrixyl is a peptide used in skin care to diminish fine likes and wrinkles by stimulating collagen production and skin repair. Renovage has been clinically proven to counteract fine lines and wrinkles, to repair irritation and redness, and to reduce pignmentation and enlarged pores.
My problem areas are the usual forehead lines, and when I smile I have the start of lines around my eyes (the horror!). I also do get redness on my cheeks now and then as well as large pores (gross). Plus I want to avoid looking older for as long as possible.
I found after three weeks of faithfully using the system as per the instructions included that my skin did feel a lot smoother and more hydrated, not to mention soft. I’m not sure I see a difference in my “lines” but to be honest I don’t think there is much you can do about lines created by facial expressions. I have noticed, however, a drastic improvement in my skin tone as far as a reduced amount of redness and I think shrunken pores as well.
I only have two minor complaints about the system.
My first complaint is really just one of aesthetics. I found that the Smoothing Cream literally looks like lard that has been put into a pretty cosmetic jar. It didn’t help when I realised it also had the texture of lard. Thankfully it didn’t smell like lard, it actually has a nice light citrus scent and it does go on really light and absorbs quickly into the skin which I doubt lard would do. (Yeah, and I’m not about to try and find out either, thank you.)
My second complaint is that after applying the system I feel like I am wearing a mask. It’s not a heavy feeling like my skin is being weight down just the feeling of something sitting on my face. It is hard to describe but it threw me off during the first few days of using the system. On the positive side, I have found that my makeup applies really well over the system.
