LitterGetter – All Natural Litter Training Solution Review & Giveaway

in Product Review

Meet Fatty. This guy has been my little furry pal for 10 years now. I honestly can’t believe its been that long since he started following me around as a stray kitten. He has followed me around across Canada and even to Texas. He moved back in with my parents with me when I decided it was time to get a post-secondary education. Fatty is an outdoor kitty. He comes in to eat and sleep but otherwise he is outdoor except in the winter.

He has always used litter boxes as well as just going outside. This all changed though when I discovered I was pregnant and could no longer change his litter. My partner has a love/hate relationship with Fatty and flat out refused to change his litter. I ended having a neighbour come clean out his box for me. When we moved to our new house in December I knew this wouldn’t be an option. I couldn’t ask a complete stranger to change my Cat’s litter. How awkward would that be? So out went the litter box and Fatty quickly adapted to going outdoors.

Now that I am not pregnant though, I set the litter box back up and got it all ready for him to use in the basement. I showed him where it was and everything but it sat unused as he continued to just wait for someone to let him out when he needed to go. Now I wouldn’t be so worried except he gets chronic bladder infections which means at times he will just pee anywhere… especially if he has no litter box around. Not pleasant. I also expect this to get worse as he ages so getting him back to the litter box was top priority.

When I came across LitterGetter I was incredibly excited to try it out and see if it could get Fatty back to the litter box again. It is an all natural mixture of herb and plant extract litter training solution which works with cat litter to attract cats and is also an aid to get kittens to use the litter box. Elkorn Valley Animal Care developed Litter Getter in order to address the issue of the large number of cats euthanized each year. Did you know that over 5 million cats are Euthanised in the United States alone each year and that statistics show non-use of the litter box is the main for cats ending up in animal shelters?

To use it you just mix a quarter of a bottle of LitterGetter with 20-25 lbs of cat litter in an open and clean litter box. When you add more litter just add an additional 1.8th of a bottle. One bottle should last you for up to 3 months!

After following these instructions I was happy to have found that Fatty was at least more curious about his litter when I showed him it again as it is in the basement and not in his usual daily path. Then I was happily surprised to find within a few days that the litter had actually been used! Victory!

I also noticed that after several days of use there was no noticeable smell from the box. For some reason his litter was always somewhat unbearable no matter how often it got cleaned.

LitterGetter also promises that it clumps with the litter (provided of course you are using clumping litter.) I was a little skeptical about that but found it did actually clump nicely with the rest of his litter and did create a giant mess in the box as I had been envisioning!

I would definitely recommend this product to any cat owner with issues using their litter. It would be an excellent tool for training kittens to use the litter as well! Check out their website for more information on purchasing this amazing solution!

I WANT THIS! I have two cats that have totally abandoned their litter boxes and have decided to go next to it instead of in it. The cats are 12 and 5 years old and have successfully been littered trained until about 3 months ago. We are about to pull our hair out. Litter Getter Ultra specifically addresses this problem and provides a clinically tested and proven solution (hallelujah). The sponsor’s site also says it provides superior odor control – who doesn’t need this? And one bottle will last 3 months – Woohoo! it’s kind to the pocketbook.

Your cat will feel most comfortable with a clean litter box. This may mean changing the litter once or twice a day. (their recommendation.) I clean mine or at least scoop out after every use. Hate the smell.

Medical Issues. If Litter Getter is still not working, there may be a chance your cat has medical issues that need to be addressed. It is very common to find cats with urinary tract infections. Take your cat to the vet and have him or her checked out because the problem may be a lot bigger than training your cat to use the litter box.
